Global Community Church
The Global Community Church is an autonomous, self-governing local church established on the pattern of the New Testament early church. Our vision is to have a diverse congregation representing people from a variety of backgrounds, races, and ages.
The Global Community Church was pioneered in January of 1998 by Pastor James Kang and his wife Jeena. We currently have worship services and Bible studies in both English and Korean languages. We hope to grow up to our vision to reach out to different parts of the global community in our city.
The vision of the Global Community Church is to share the Gospel with the people from all nations ("the global community") to make them dedicated disciples of Jesus Christ, and to send them out into the people of all nations ("the global community") for the sake the Gospel."
To accomplish our vision, our church is committed to following purposes:
1. Exalting the Lord our God
By dynamic, inspired worship, praise and prayer. By giving our time, talents and gifts as an offering to Lord.
2. Equipping God's people
To become mature disciples of Christ through Godly vision, biblical teaching, pastoral ministries, and bring believers to effective ministry.
3. Extending the Kingdom of God
Through the church, to our local community and the world through aggressive evangelism, training leaders, planting churches and sending missionaries and mission teams.
We as church congregation hold in high regard to certain biblical values that the vision is built upon and built with. These values breathe life into the vision and sustain the quality of the vision.
1. God's Word
We believe that the Bible is God's inspired word, the authoritative and trustworthy rule of faith and practice of all Christians. (Bible-Based Church)
2. God's Fervent Prayer
We believe that intercession is the call of every believer. We believe that God's work is accomplished first and foremost by our prayers. Therefore, individual praying and fasting and praying together are very important part of our lives. To lead the whole church to become a praying church, we provide daily "Early Morning Prayer" meetings and monthly "Overnight Prayer" meetings in addition to prayers before and during the worship services . (Praying Church)
3. Holy Spirit's Activity
Both in our personal and corporate life as believes, we welcome the moving of the Holy Spirit . We believe that continual filling with the Holy Spirit is very important for effective ministry (Eph. 5:18). The gifts of the Holy Spirit and the fruit of the Spirit are part of our basic belief system. (Spirit-Filled Church)
4. The Relationship
To love one another is our goal and we endeavor to make this practical through small groups called Cells, where every believer is encouraged to develop deeper relationship with other believers that result in encouragement and accountability. (Loving Fellowship)
5. The Disciple Making
We have strong emphasis on developing spiritual leaders. Our goal is to make every believer a mature Christian leader his or her world as we try to help every member take a part in ministries according to his or her spiritual gifts. (Disciple-Making Church)
6. Reaching the Lost
We believe every believer is called to reach those individuals who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We are committed to remain aggressive in reaching our local community and our global community in all nations. (Great Commission Church)
Pastor James Kang was born in Korea and came to United States when he was 15 years old. Thanks to the prayers of his parents, he received God's calling to the ministry in his early age. Thanks to several Godly pastors and teachers who taught and influenced in his devotional life and ministries, pastor Kang has a passion for the deeper prayer life, a strong focus in making all members to be Christ's disciples and minister, and a great vision for winning the lost with Christ's love. Pastor Kang is married to Jeena and is blessed wonderful children, Joseph, Sarah, Hannah, and Esther.
